Description
Parallel slide gate valve
Sometimes called a parallel disk gate valve, or parallel slide gate valve) operates in much the same way as a wedge gate valve, but the gate features two disks placed at a 90-degree angle to the fluid flow direction. They are generally seen as safer in high temperature applications, where the parallel design is less likely to result in thermal binding.
Application
GZP parallel slide gate valves featuring 'eyelet follower' design are specifically designed for use in high pressure water and steam applications, such as main steam isolation, boiler feed-pump isolation, feed heater isolation, spray water and general service isolation duty. Due to the eyelet follower design, the GZP parallel slide gate valve can be a solution in high velocity service applications where seat erosion and damage is problematic such as steam blow.
