Precautions and performance of electric ball valve

Aug 14, 2021

The classification of electric ball valves is relatively wide, and there are different control types and on-off actuators, electric regulating ball valves and electric switching ball valves. The electric ball valve is suitable for the process occasions and fluid control systems where the pipeline pressure difference is large, the sealing requirements are strict, and the pipeline medium is cut off. Electric ball valve is a kind of pipeline pressure component for industrial automation process control. Electric ball valve is usually used for remote switch or adjustment control of pipeline media. Electric ball valves mainly include electric regulating ball valves, electric explosion-proof ball valves, electric high pressure ball valves, electric three-way ball valves and other series. The electric actuator adopts an integrated structure with a built-in servo system. It does not need to be equipped with a servo amplifier. Input 4-20mA control signal or 1-5VDC and 220VAC power supply to control the operation. Electric ball valve has the advantages of small size, light weight, good performance, simple matching and large flow capacity. The electric ball valve can be used in the occasion of working temperature: -20℃ to +200℃ (+350℃ to +700℃ special seal), working pressure: PN1.6-PN42.0MPa.

Electric ball valve, electric explosion-proof ball valve, electric high pressure ball valve, electric three-way ball valve are mainly suitable for the adjustment or cut-off of air, steam, water, gas, petroleum and petrochemical products, and corrosive media.

Electric ball valve actuator is an indispensable drive control device to realize electric ball valve program control, automatic control and remote control. Its movement process is controlled by stroke, torque, etc. Since the working characteristics and utilization of electric ball valve actuators depend on the type and characteristics of the ball valve, the correct selection of ball valve actuators is essential to prevent overload.

The output torque of the actuator is the most important parameter for selecting an electric actuator. The output torque of the actuator should be 1.2 to 1.5 times the maximum operating torque of the selected ball valve. Secondly, it is necessary to select the appropriate opening and closing speed according to the different use conditions of the ball valve, so as to prevent the excessively fast opening and closing speed of the ball valve actuator from causing water hammer.

Electric ball valve actuators have special requirements, that is, they must be able to limit the torque (axial force) and the angle of rotation. When the specifications of the electric device are determined, its control torque is also determined. Generally, it runs within a predetermined time and the motor will not be overloaded. However, overload may occur if the following conditions occur: First, the power supply voltage is low, and the required torque cannot be obtained, so that the motor stops rotating; second, the torque limit mechanism is set incorrectly to make it greater than the stopped torque. Causes the continuous generation of excessive torque, causing the motor to stop rotating; third, intermittent use, the generated heat accumulation exceeds the allowable temperature rise of the motor; fourth, due to some reason, the torque limit mechanism circuit fails, causing the torque to be excessive Fifth, the use environment temperature is too high, which relatively reduces the thermal capacity of the motor.
