Through Conduit Knife Gate Valve

Knife gate valves are manufactured according to the latest edition of MSS SP-81 and tested to comply with API Standard 598.

 

Operating Characteristics and Functionality:

The knife gate valve comprises a body, knife (blade), stem, seat, and packing, as illustrated in the accompanying picture. This valve is ideal for handling mud, fibrous materials, and other media, as the blade-type knife can effectively cut through the fibers of the medium.

 

Operating Instructions:

To Open: Rotate the handwheel counterclockwise. This action drives the valve stem upwards, lifting the knife edge away from the seal to its uppermost position, and fully opening the knife gate channel. Simultaneously, the sealing ring returns to an elastic state, enhancing the durability of the seal.

To Close: Rotate the handwheel clockwise. The stem descends, causing the knife to move downwards. Continue rotating the handwheel to push the stem and knife into the closed position, where the knife fully covers the channel. At this point, the knife is positioned at the bottom edge and is compressed and sealed under the wedge force, ensuring effective sealing.
