Unidirectional Wafer Knife Gate Valve

The knife gate valve is manufactured according to the latest edition of MSS SP-81 and tested to meet API Standard 598.

 

Components and application

The knife gate valve primarily consists of a body, knife (blade), stem, seat, and packing, as illustrated in the accompanying picture. This valve is ideally suited for handling mud, fibrous materials, and other media. The blade-type knife effectively cuts through the fibers of the medium.

 

Operating:

To Open: Rotate the handwheel counterclockwise. This action drives the valve stem upwards, lifting the knife edge away from the seal to its uppermost position, and fully opening the knife gate channel. Simultaneously, the sealing ring returns to an elastic state, enhancing its service life.

To Close: Rotate the handwheel clockwise. This causes the stem to descend, moving the knife downwards. Continue rotating the handwheel to push the knife down into the closed position, where it fully covers the channel. At this point, the knife's bottom edge is compressed and sealed due to the wedge force, ensuring effective sealing.
